Create a Painterly Fused Glass Bowl
This class introduces you to fusing with glass powders (frit) to create a painterly fused glass bowl.

What you will do
Learn the basics of fusing with frit
Mix glass powder with a liquid medium to create a paint-like consistency
“Paint” a pattern or scene on a flat, clear 10" circular piece of fusible glass
Use various tools and methods to build texture and layers
Choose a mold for slumping your bowl
After class, Barb will fire the work in her kiln. The piece will be slumped in a mold and fired a second time. Bowls will be ready for pickup the following week after 1:00 pm by appointment.
Who this class is for
No prior glass experience needed
No cutting, soldering or grinding
Participants must be at least 14 years old
Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the class
Materials provided All materials are provided, including:
Clear 10" circular glass base
Glass powders in 15–20 colors
Brushes, spoons, wooden tools
Plastic cups for mixing
What to wear
Old clothes or an apron
