About Designs Anew Glass Art

I have always had a fascination with how light reflects through the varied colors of glass. With a BFA in Studio Art History and an MFA in Interior Design, art and design have been an integral part of my life. I started oil painting at 15 and consider some of my recent work to be “painting with glass.”

I began my venture into stained glass over 40 years ago. When Covid hit, I was forced to take a hiatus from teaching at the Art Institute of Houston. I soon found an incredible medium to work with in fused glass. Over decades of refining my glass cutting, grinding, and compositional techniques, my experience and knowledge of the glass medium has been invaluable in honing my fusing skills.

From bold statement pieces to subtle accents, each project is tailored to suit my client’s aesthetic and functional needs. I work closely with clients to ensure every detail fits their space and vision, offering guidance from initial concept to completion.

"This beautiful display piece has a delicate iridescence that looks great in both natural and interior lighting. I plan on hanging it vertically, but it also looks fantastic on a table. The quality of craftsmanship is first rate - would definitely buy again!"

Martha

This stained glass piece is too beautiful!! I decorate my 6 foot sliding glass door in my family room with theses star and snowflake designs! This goes perfectly! Been collecting for years, perfect addition Craftsmanship is outstanding! Thank you so much!

The business card stand is beautiful. It is just as pictured and was packaged very well. The stand has a nice weight so it does not tip over too. I am very pleased and would do business with this vendor again.

Studio Life

My studio practice is a balance of structure and experimentation. I move between stained glass and fused glass depending on the concept, the subject, and how I want light and color to behave in the finished piece.

I enjoy developing layered frit scenes, building functional dishware, and creating one-of-a-kind statement works. The common thread is always the same. Thoughtful design, careful craftsmanship, and work that brings color and energy into everyday spaces.
